(BIG RAPIDS, MI, Nov. 8) – The McKendree University women's soccer team fell to Ferris State University 2-0 Thursday afternoon and were eliminated from their third-consecutive NCAA Tournament.
The Bulldogs got on the board early when Pia Nagel scored within the goalie box on an unsettled attempt in the 8
th minute and were able to find the net once more off the boot of Tia Vansuilichem in the 63
rd minute. The Bearcats were outshot by the Bulldogs 21 to nine, however McKendree was not short of scoring chances themselves starting with a flurry of opportunities shortly before the end of the first half. Defensively, junior goalkeeper
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) accumulated 10 saves to cap off the final game of her decorated 2018 season.
The women's soccer team concludes their 2018 season with an overall record of 13-5-1, taking home the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular season title.
