(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 13)--
The McKendree University women's basketball team took care of final exams for the fall semester this week, and will head back to the basketball court this weekend to take care of another non-conference game on their 2018-19 schedule.

McKendree will travel to Maryville, Mo., on Sunday for a match-up against Northwest Missouri State University. The Battle of the Bearcats is set to take place at 1 p.m.

It will be eight days between games for McKendree, which brings a 6-3 overall record into its Sunday tilt at Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats were defeated in their last contest, which took place on Saturday at Kentucky State University, 71-64. The host Thorobrettes rallied from a 12-point deficit to end McKendree's three-game win streak. Sydney Diekhoff (Pekin, IL/Pekin Community) led the way for the Bearcats with 17 points, while Megan Jensen (Union, MO/Saint Francis Borgia Regional) added 11 points and Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) netted 10 points. Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) pulled down a team-best seven rebounds at Kentucky State.

Diekhoff is McKendree's leading scorer on the season at 16.6 PPG. She is fourth among all Great Lakes Valley Conference players in scoring, and also ranks fourth in free throw percentage at 90 percent. Heberg also averages in double figures for the Bearcats at 11 PPG. Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North) leads the team with 34 assists, and her 3.78 assists per game sits ninth in the league. Pohlman is also second in the GLVC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.13. Madison Hart (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) is the Bearcats' leading rebounder at 7.1 RPG.

Following Sunday's game at Northwest Missouri State, McKendree will return to Lebanon to prepare for its final game before the holiday break, which will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Statham Center against Culver-Stockton College.
