(Chicago, Ill., Feb. 23) – The McKendree University men's volleyball team saw its three-game winning streak end on Friday night, as they were swept by the #8 nationally ranked Loyola University Chicago Ramblers at Gentile Arena in a conference match-up. With the setback, the Bearcats fall to 6-7 overall on the season, but they remain one game over .500 in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play.
Senior outside hitter Nolan Rueter led the Bearcats on offense, putting away a team-high eight kills, while red-shirt freshman Ethan Carroll hit .429 with 5 kills. Senior setter Pasquale Fiduccia recorded 21 assists and five digs, and junior libero Zach Thompson had a game-high six digs for McKendree. Collin Mahan and Ryan Jamison both collected ten kills for the Ramblers in a winning effort.
The Bearcats will now head to Romeoville to take on the #9 Lewis University Flyers tomorrow night at 7 pm, which can be seen live online on the GLVC Sports Network.
