(LEBANON, Ill., April 12)--The McKendree University will play its final two home doubleheaders of the 2018 regular season this weekend when Drury University and Rockhurst University visit Bearcat Field in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. McKendree and Drury will square off on Friday at noon before the Bearcats entertain Rockhurst for Senior Day on Sunday at noon.

The Bearcats are 27-12 overall and 12-6 in GLVC action. McKendree opened the week with a doubleheader split at Truman State University before taking one of two games on Tuesday at Lindenwood University. The Bearcats have won at least 25 games in each of head coach Ashley Fleming's three season at the helm of the program. With three more victories this season, McKendree will secure its second straight 30-win campaign. 

Prior to Sunday's games against Rockhurst, McKendree will honor its eight seniors -- Lucendia Adams (Dahlgren, Ill./Hamilton County), Paige Fleeman (Salem, Ill./Christ Our Rock Lutheran), Rebecca Franke (Trenton, Ill./Wesclin), Brooke Gajewski (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest), Kyla Haukap (Dawson, Ill./Buffalo Tri-City), Abbi Liske (Ashley, Ill./Nashville), Tylin Stephens (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs) and Emma Lewis (Bethalto, Ill./Civic Memorial). After the twinbill against the Hawks, the Bearcats will play their final eight games of the 2018 regular season on the road, beginning with a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday at Kentucky Weslyan College. 

ABOUT DRURY
The Panthers are 13-19 overall and 4-12 against GLVC competition. First-year head coach Jerry Breaux -- who won more than 700 games during a career that included a successful stint at crosstown rival Evangel University -- brings a squad to Lebanon that has won its last three contests, including a non-conference doubleheader sweep at Lincoln on Tuesday.

Madison Hecker leads the squad with a .350 average, three home runs and 19 RBI. Jacy Ummel is close behind at .333 while leading the Panthers with eight stolen bases. In the circle, Kasey Cazares has posted a team-high five wins in 17 appearances. 

McKendree swept last year's doubleheader at Drury, winning the opener 7-1 before grabbing a 2-0 decision in the nightcap.

ABOUT ROCKHURST 
The Hawks are 16-21 overall and 10-6 in GLVC play prior to their Friday doubleheader at the University of Southern Indiana. Three starters are hitting above .300, led by Hanna Stam at .345. Stam also leads Rockhurst with six homers and 32 RBI. Lauren Marks and Taylor Rupe are each hitting .328. Shannone Greene has won all 16 games in the circle for the Hawks as she holds a 16-15 record with a 2.11 ERA in 27 starts. Greene has struck out 96 batters and has tossed five shutouts. 

The Bearcats and Hawks have not met since the end of the 2016 regular season, when Rockhurst took both ends of a doubleheader in Kansas City. Rockhurst grabbed a 5-4, 14-inning win in the opener before rolling to a 13-5 victory in game two.
