(Liberty, Mo., Sep 14) – The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 3-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play after defeating William Jewell College Friday afternoon 3-1.
 
The Bearcat offense proved to be potent once more, outshooting the Cardinals with 13 to five with Alynnah O'Leary (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) scoring in the 23^rd minute of the game, Rachel Ford (Trenton, IL/Wesclin) scoring in the 41^st minute, and Jane Skaggs (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) adding the final McKendree goal just one minute later in the contest. Bixby added two more assists to her season total as well. In a back and forth second half, William Jewell was able to find the back of the net for their only goal thanks to the boot of Alyson Galler in the 75^th minute. On the defensive end, junior goalkeeper Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) made a total of two saves and earned another win in her efforts.
 
The women's soccer team will be back in action September 16 at noon as they return home to face the Flyers of Lewis University at Leemon Field in another GLVC bout.
