(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 11) – The McKendree University women's hockey team returns home for a two game series against Minot State University. The Bearcats will return home after going on the road last weekend for two games against Davenport University.
McKendree sits at 2-2 overall after capturing its first two wins against Davenport. Through four games, senior
Alyssa Albee (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) leads the way offensively with four goals and five total points. Facilitating the offense is freshman
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School) with a team-leading three assists.
Between the pipes, sophomore
Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) sports a 1-2 record, 2.33 goals against average, and .926 save percentage with one shutout. Freshmen
Brittnee Kenny (Richmond, Ontario, Canada/South Carleton High School) and
Hannah Zochowski (Twinsburg, OH/Twinsburg High School) combine for one shutout after splitting time in net during the Oct. 6 game against Davenport.
This weekend will mark the first matchup between McKendree and Minot State University.
About Minot State University
The Beavers come in at 1-1 overall after opening their season on Sept. 27-28 on the road against Colorado. Minot State is in its first year as an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division-I team after finishing in second at the ACHA Division-II National Tournament.
Offensively, junior Sami Jo Henry who has three goals through two games leads the Beavers. Six different players are tied with one assist. Splitting time in the crease are freshmen Jordan Ivanco and Lexi Beuker. Ivanco is 1-0 overall, has a 2.00 goals against average, and a .875 save percentage while Beuker has a 0-1 record, 3.17 goals against average, and .800 save percentage.
