(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 31) – The McKendree University women's hockey returns for a single game against the University of Minnesota on Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
The Bearcats return to the rink after going 3-0 in the Arizona State Showcase on Oct. 18-20. McKendree posts a 5-4 overall record on the season.
McKendree is led offensively by senior
Lara Wentz (Bismark, ND/), freshman
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School), and senior
Alyssa Albee (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central). Wentz leads the team in goals and points, recording seven goals and 11 points on the season. Scully follows with five goals, five assists, and 10 points while Albee is just behind with five goals, four assists, and nine points.
In net, sophomore
Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) leads the way with a 3-4 record, 2.21 goals against average, and .925 save percentage with one shutout.
About Minnesota
The Golden Gophers enter Friday with a 2-0 record on the season. McKendree and Minnesota last met during the 2017-18 season and the Golden Gophers hold a 3-0 all-time record against the Bearcats. Amy Haslerud is the top offensive player thus far, posting three goals, one assist, and four points through two games.
In goal, Alex Morris and Maddy Koss each have played a single game. Morris posts a 3.00 goals against average and .929 save percentage and Koss records a 2.00 goals against average and .909 save percentage.
