(FREMONT, Neb., Nov. 23) – The McKendree University women's hockey team opened up a two game series with a 3-2 overtime loss to Midland University. The Bearcats will look for a split tomorrow at 1:00pm.
The Bearcats move to 8-6 overall on the season.
After a scoreless, opening period, senior
Lara Wentz (Bismark, ND/) scored quickly into the second period with help from senior
Jana Garrow (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) and junior
Callie Hoadley (Hanover, MA/Hanover High School). Midland scored to knot the game at one with three minutes remaining in the period.
Midland took the lead shortly into the final period, scoring just over a minute into the third. The Bearcats answered back with five minutes left with a goal from Garrow, assist from freshman
Quinn Atchison (Victoria, BC, Canada/Belmont Seconday School). The two teams would go into an overtime session tied at two.
The Warriors wasted no time in the overtime period, scoring 15 seconds to take a 3-2 win over McKendree.

Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) made 20/23 saves in the loss.
