(DAHLONEGA, Ga., Feb. 14) – The McKendree University softball team travels to Dahlonega, GA to play five games at the Cottrell Foundation Loyal Blue Classic on the campus of the University of North Georgia this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
 
The Bearcats return to the diamond after a 2-2 start at the Charger Chillout last Saturday and Sunday as they defeated Henderson State and the University of Montevallo while falling to Shorter University and Mississippi College.
 
On Friday, February 15 McKendree will first square off against the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University at 1 p.m., followed by the Chargers of Alabama Huntsville at 3 p.m. Competition will recommence on Saturday, February 16 where the Bearcats will rematch Alabama Huntsville at 1 p.m., followed by the University of North Georgia at 3 p.m. On the final day of the Loyal Blue Classic, McKendree will conclude play in another match against the University of North Georgia at 9 a.m.
 
Southern Wesleyan is currently 4-4 overall on the year, most recently defeating Columbia International 10-1 on February 9.
 
Alabama Huntsville is currently 8-4 overall after most recently defeating the University of Missouri – St. Louis 7-5 on February 10.
 
North Georgia is 9-3 on the year, most recently defeating California University of Pennsylvania 6-0 on February 10.
