(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 21) – The McKendree University softball team will no longer travel to Evansville, IN for the Midwest Region Softball Classic due to poor field conditions. Instead, the Bearcats will play host to Saginaw Valley State University in a pair of doubleheaders on Friday, February 22 and Sunday, February 24, starting at 11 a.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.
 
The Bearcats return to the diamond after a going 1-3 at the Loyal Blue Classic on the campus of the University of North Georgia, defeating nationally ranked Alabama Huntsville 9-7 on Friday, February 15.
 
The Cardinals of Saginaw Valley will be opening their season against the Bearcats this Friday.
 
Games on Friday will be held at the Family Sports Park in O'Fallon, IL. The location for games on Sunday is to be determined.
