(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 7)--
The McKendree University women's basketball team kicks off a four-game road swing with a pair of games this week in the greater Kansas City area. The Bearcats will first visit William Jewell College Thursday evening before taking on Rockhurst University Saturday afternoon.

McKendree takes an overall record of 11-9 and a 5-6 Great Lakes Valley Conference mark on the road. This will mark the beginning of the longest road trip of the 2018-19 season for the Bearcats, who will visit the University of Southern Indiana and Bellarmine University next week. Following those contests, McKendree will play its final three games of the regular season in the friendly confines of the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.

In its last outing on Saturday, McKendree was defeated at home by No 18 Lewis University, 81-54. Shayli Florine (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg) came off the bench to hit 8-of-9 shots from the floor on her way to a team-high 19 points against the Flyers. The Bearcats also held the GLVC's leading scorer, Jessica Kelliher, 11 points below her season scoring average of 24 PPG.

Sydney Diekhoff (Pekin, IL/Pekin Community) (14.2 PPG) and Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) (10.7 PPG) are the top scorers for the Bearcats heading into this weekend's action. Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) leads the way on the boards, pulling down 7.7 rebounds per game. Morton also leads McKendree with 36 steals while shooting a team-best 57 percent from the floor. Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North) has dished out 69 assists to lead all Bearcat players.

McKendree has proven to be a balanced team both at home and on the road this season. The Bearcats are 6-4 in games played at the Statham Center, while they are 5-4 in true road contests (McKendree is 0-1 in its lone neutral-site outing this season).

ABOUT WILLIAM JEWELL
The Cardinals own a season record of 9-10 while they are 3-8 in GLVC play. William Jewell has dropped its last five outings, including a 68-60 setback on Saturday at home against the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Antoinette Mussorici leads the Cardinals in scoring at 13.9 PPG. Kiara Bradley is the only other William Jewell player averaging in double figures at 12.4 PPG. Bradley also leads the team in rebounding at 5.9 RPG and is shooting a team-best 88.2 percent from the free throw line. Mussorici has handed out 50 assists in 19 games.

William Jewell won the lone 2017-18 meeting between the two squads. On Jan. 25, 2018 in Lebanon, the visiting Cardinals outlasted the Bearcats 68-63. Sydney Diekhoff (Pekin, IL/Pekin Community) came off the bench to score a game-high 23 points for the Bearcats. Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) (14 points) and Madison Hart (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) (13 points) also reached double digits in the scoring column.
