(FRISCO, Tex., March 28) – The McKendree University women's hockey team closed out its first American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament with a 3-1 loss to Adrian College early Thursday night.
 
The Bearcats close the season at 16-12, their best record as a program. In just its third season, McKendree made it to the ACHA D-I Women's National Tournament.
 
After a scoreless opening period, Adrian recorded two goals in the second period to take a 2-0 lead into the final period of play.
 
Junior Lara Wentz (Bismark, ND/) scored the lone goal for the Bearcats to cut the Adrian lead to one with 1:34 remaining in the third period. With 58 seconds left, the Bulldogs answered back to push their lead back to two. The score held until the final buzzer as the Bearcats were defeated by Adrian 3-1.
 
Junior netminder Jazmin Malinowski (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way) recorded 43 saves in the loss.
