(LEBANON, I'll., March 29) - The McKendree University men's volleyball team fell to the eighth ranked team in the country and the number one seed in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA), Lewis University, 3-0. The Bearcats are now 11-11 overall on the season and 6-6 in MIVA competition.
McKendree placed immense pressure on the Flyers in the first set where the Bearcats put immense pressure on the Flyers but ultimately fell, 25-23. From there, the Flyers proved their No. 1 seed in MIVA competition as they won both set two and three, 25-13 and 25-15, to collect the 3-0 win.

Ethan Carroll (Barrington, IL/Barrington) and junior opposite
Zach Schnittker (Arlington Heights, IL/Buffalo Grove) led the offense, each with seven kills. Freshman outside hitter
Brendon Dunn (Sherman Oaks, CA/Notre Dame) was close behind with six kills on the night.
Defensive leaders for the Bearcats were Dunn, senior libero
Zach Thompson (Defiance, MO/Francis Howell), and Schnittker. Dunn tallied nine kills in the match, Thompson was close behind with seven, and Schnittker rounded out the efforts with four total digs.
McKendree will finish out MIVA competition with a home match against Purdue Fort Wayne on April 2 at 7 p.m. followed by a match against Ball State at home for senior night on April 4 at 4 p.m.
