(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 15) – The McKendree University women's basketball team is hitting the road for the first time this 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) season for games against William Jewell and Rockhurst. The game against the Cardinals is set for Thursday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. while the game against the Hawks is on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m.
A quick turnaround will occur for McKendree as they will then go on to face the University of Southern Indiana on Monday, Jan. 20 in Evansivlle, Ind. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. for that matchup.
In their last game, the Bearcats fell to the University of Indianapolis, 56-45. In the game senior guard
Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) scored her 1,000 career point to become just the 15
th person in program history to accomplish the feat. Heberg is the lead scorer for McKendree with 188 points on the season averaging 14.5 points per game.
Sophomore guard
Jenna Krause (Seymour, WI/Seymour) is the only other Bearcats with a double digit average points per game stat line with 11.5. Earlier this season in the overtime loss to Bellarmine, Krause recorded a career best 36 points, which is just four shy of the McKendree single game scoring record.
Other key impact players for the Bearcats are senior guard
Madison Hart (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) and junior guard
Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North). Hart leads the team and sits in second place in the league in rebounds with 142 on the season. She also leads the Bearcats in steals with 20. Pohlman leads the teams in assists with 50 recorded on the season.
McKendree will return home on Thursday, Jan. 23 to face Quincy University in a 5:30 p.m. game.
ABOUT WILLIAM JEWELL:
William Jewell is 5-8 overall on the season and 1-4 in GLVC competition after falling to Lewis University 70-63 in its last contest. The Cardinals have one player averaging double digit points per game, Kiara Bradley with 16.0 AVG. Bradley also leads William Jewell in rebounds with 87 on the season.

ABOUT ROCKHURST:
Rockhurst is 8-5 overall on the season and 2-3 in the GLVC. In their last game, the Hawks defeated the University of Saint Mary (Kan.), 96-49 for its last non-conference contest of the year. Rockhurst has three players averaging double digit points, Madeline Ronshausen leads the efforts with a 15.2 AVG, Meghan Urbanski is next with 10.8, and Paige Pendley rounds out the Hawks double digit scorers with 10.2. Pendley and Ronshausen also sit atop the leaderboard for Rockhurst in total rebounds, Pendley with 52 and Ronshausen with 51.
