Bearcats to Begin Four-Game Road Stint with Games Against Lindenwood, No. 15 UMSL

(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 29) –
The McKendree University men's basketball team is set to begin a four-game road trip with contests against Lindenwood University on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and No. 15 Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3:00 p.m.

The Bearcats are 10-8 overall on the season after suffering an 82-65 loss to Truman State in its last Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest. With its 5-5 conference record, McKendree sits in ninth place in the league standings with ten games remaining on the season.

As a team, the Bearcats lead the league with their three-point field goal percentage. McKendree has made 92 three-point baskets on 224 attempts for a .411 shooting percentage.

Senior guard Logan Kohrmann (Bartelso, IL/Breese Central) leads the GLVC in scoring with a 19.2 points per game average in conference play with 192 points on the season. Kohrmann also leads the Bearcats with 17.9 points per game on average for the entire season with 323 points. Alongside his scoring abilities, Kohrmann has the second highest rebound and assist count on the season for McKendree with 96 total rebounds and 50 assists.

Junior guard Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) is also averaging double-digit points for the Bearcats with 12.1 average points per game with 217 total points on the season. Senior forward Nate Bethel (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Louis Christian Academy) and freshman forward Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) are also strong offensive players for McKendree, Bethel averaging 9.4 points per game and Bultman averaging 9.3.

Bultman also leads the team in rebounds as the only Bearcat with triple digit rebounds on the season at 119. He also sits atop the assist leaderboard fir McKendree with 62. Freshman forward Jakobie Robinson (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) is also an impact defensive player for the Bearcats with 93 rebounds and 25 steals.

The Bearcats will close out their four-game road stretch with contests at Missouri S&T on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and at Maryville on Feb. 8 with a 3:00 p.m. game.

ABOUT LINDENWOOD:
Lindenwood University is 8-10 overall on the season and 2-8 in GLVC competition after falling to the University of Illinois Springfield 95-88 in its latest contest. The Lions have four players averaging double digit points on the season. TJ Crockett leads the way with 20.3, Vijay Blackmon is next with 16.5, Cameron Scales follows with 10.6, and Anthony Christian rounds out the efforts with 10.2 points per game on average. Crockett and Scales also lead the team in rebounds, Crockett with 85 and Scales with 77 rebounds on the season.
