(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 30) – The No. 2 McKendree University men's wrestling team defeated the No.7 Lions of Lindenwood University by way of a commanding 26-11 victory this past Thursday night. The Bearcats improve to 7-2 overall on the year and remain undefeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
 
The Bearcat victory over Lindenwood included individual wins from Marcus Povlick (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North) who won the 125-lb weight class by a 5-2 decision, Juwan Edmund who won the 149-lb class by way of a 9-4 decision, Nate Smalling (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) who won the 157-lb class by a 13-2 major decision, Nick Foster (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) who won the 165-lb class with an 8-0 major decision, Joshua Jones (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) who won the 174-lb class by a 13-2 major decision, Michael Aldridge who won the 184-lb class by an 8-4 decision, and Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) who won the 197-lb class by a 16-0 tech fall.
 
Men's wrestling will be back in action this upcoming Wednesday, February 5 when they host the University of Central Missouri at 7:00 p.m.
