(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 8) – The McKendree University women's basketball team will play host to GLVC opponents Bellarmine and Indianapolis on Thursday and Saturday. The Bearcats will face Bellarmine on Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a game on Jan. 11 against UIndy at 1:00 p.m.

In their last game, the Bearcats put up 63 points against an undefeated No. 1 Drury team. McKendree put up an early lead but was not able to maintain it, falling 84-63 to the Panthers. The Bearcats are 7-4 overall on the season.

Senior guard Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) leads McKendree with 15.8 average points per game and 142 total points on the season. Heberg currently sits in eighth place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with her 15.8 average points per game. The guard is also just 15 points shy of hitting the 1,000 career point mark.

Other impact players for the Bearcats are senior guard Madison Hart (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek), sophomore guard Jenna Krause (Seymour, WI/Seymour), and junior guard Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North). Hart leads McKendree and sits in third place in the GLVC in total rebounds with 94 on the season. Krause is the second lead scorer for the Bearcats recording 88 total points and a 9.8 points per game average. Pohlman leads the team in assists with 36 while also making an impact on the Bearcats' offense scoring wise, averaging 7.4 points per game.

The Bearcats will venture west to take on William Jewell College and Rockhurst University following Saturday's game. McKendree is set to face William Jewell on Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in Liberty, Mo., and then Rockhurst University on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.

ABOUT BELLARMINE:
Bellarmine University is 6-4 overall on the season and 1-2 in the GLVC after falling 78-76 in a close matchup against Lewis University. The Knights have one player averaging double-digit figures on the season, Breia Torrens with an 11.7 average. Mallory Schwartz is Bellarmine's lead rebounder with 54 on the season.

ABOUT INDIANAPOLIS:
Indianapolis is 9-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in the GLVC. The Greyhounds are coming off of a 67-63 win over the University of Illinois Springfield. UIndy has three players averaging double-figures on the season, Laura Thomas leads the pack with 15.6 points per game on average, Dasia Evans follows suit with 12.6, and McKenzy Telfair rounds out the efforts with 10.2 AVG. The rebounding leader for the Greyhounds is Emma Benoit with 81 total rebounds on the season.
