(LEBANON, Ill. – Dec. 1) – The McKendree University men's basketball team will hit the road for their first away competition of the 2020-21 season.
Chris Foster and his team will face the Miners of Missouri S&T on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 PM.
The Bearcats move to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition, after an 87-75 win Sunday afternoon over Rockhurst University. The Bearcats limited the Hawks to 36.1 percent shooting (22-of-61) and posted an 11-point scoring run in the final minutes of the second half.
Sophomore
Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) led McKendree with 20 points, including two three-pointers. Senior
Jacob Donaldson (Effingham, IL/Effingham) chipped in 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers coming at crucial points during the game. Senior
Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville)s added 14 points and was 9-9 in free throw attempts. Senior
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) tallied on 14 points and led the team with eight rebounds.
The Miners are 0-2 overall this season and 0-2 in GLVC competition. In their most recent game, the Miners had four players finish in double figures in their 67-76 loss to Maryville. Junior Kevin Legendary led the way for his team with 18 points. He was followed by freshman Julian Smith with 14 points, and 12 points coming from both freshman Kaden Froebe and sophomore Mitch Fairless.
