(LEBANON, Ill. – Dec. 16) – The McKendree University men's basketball team will close out the 2020 calendar year and road trip with back-to-back games against Lewis University. The Bearcats will travel to Romeoville, Ill., for their first contest on Friday, Dec. 18 at 5:15 PM, and then again for an afternoon contest on Saturday, De. 19 at 3:00 PM.
In their last exhibition match, the Bearcats fell to the Governors of Austin Peay State University, 68-82, Monday night. Both teams struggled with turnovers, but the Bearcats controlled their end, not getting too out of control or letting the Governors go on long scoring runs. McKendree led 3-to-1 in blocked shots and six rebounds in the contest. The Bearcats shot 45.5 percent from the paint, 29.6 percent from the arc, and 71.4 percent from the free throw line.
Chris Foster's team has a 2-1 overall and 2-1 GLVC contest record heading into this weekend. They are averaging 82.0 points per game and 1.3 points above their opponents this season. The Bearcats are averaging 45.5 percent from field goal range, 35.9 percent from three-point range, and 73.5 percent from the free throw line.
Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) is averaging 19.7 points with a 63.3 shooting percentage and 71.4 percent from the three-point line.
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) is averaging a double-double in his first year with the Bearcats, average 15.7 points and 11.0 rebound per game.
Jacob Donaldson (Effingham, IL/Effingham) is leading the Bearcats from beyond the arc, posting a 53.3 percent

The Flyers are coming off a two-game win streak, advancing to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in GLVC competition. They defeated the University of Indianapolis 77-64 Tuesday night, finishing the game on a 16-9 point run. The Flyers shot 49.2 percent from the floor, was 10-of-16 from the three-point line, and outrebounded their competition 48-30. Their team was led by Trevian Bell who recorded a double-double, 19 points and 13 rebounds. Dre Bell scored 17 points for his team, going 7-for-9 in shooting and 3-for-4 from three-point range. Both Atakan Sahinkaya and Artese Stapleton scored in double figures, 11 points and 10 points respectively.
