(LEBANON, Ill. – Dec. 16) – The McKendree University team will have two more competitions, one home and one away, before closing out the 2020 calendar year. They will travel to Romeoville, Ill., on Friday, Dec. 18 for an afternoon game against Lewis University. Then close out 2020 with a home game against University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, Dec. 20.

Kari Kerkhoff and her team sit at a 2-3 overall record and 2-3 in GLVC competition, after a 79-63 win over the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist University on Monday night. McKendree dominated their visitors in field goals (61.2 percent), three-pointers (61.5 percent), recorded more rebounds (29), and steals (10).

Freshman Christy Fortune (Appleton, WI/Appleton West) set a new career and season-high game with 33 points and an average 81.3 shooting percentage. She went 3-for-3 from three-point range and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Fortune is leading the Bearcats with an average 14.0 points per game with a 65.1 average shooting percentage.

Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North) also recorded a season-high 14 points in Monday night's contest. The senior is averaging 8.6 points per game with a 43.2 shooting percentage.

ABOUT LEWIS UNIVERSITY
The Flyers of Lewis University are now 3-2 overall and 3-2 in GLVC competition this season, after narrowly defeating Quincy University 68-62 Saturday afternoon. The Flyers finished the contest shooting 43.6 percent from the floor, 29.4 percent from the arc, and 65.2 percent from the free throw line. They outrebounded 41-37 and outscored in fastbreak points 19-6 over Quincy. Four Flyers scored in double figured, led by Lindsay Harrison with 13 points. She was followed by Grace Hilber and Kathryn Schmidt who scored 13 and 12 points respectively. Jenna Badali was the final double-figure scorer with 11 point.

ABOUT MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS
The Tritons of UMSL are 1-2 overall and 1-2 in GLVC play before they take on Lindenwood University Friday night.in their most recent competition, the Tritons cut a 15-point deficit down to four but fell to Truman State 65-71. They shot 40.3 percent from the floor and held a 38-31 advantage in rebounding and 13-0 advantage in turnover points. Their team was led by two players in double figures. Junior Faye Meissner scored a career-high 17 points, while senior Alex LaPorta tallied 14 points with seven assists
