The matchup between Bruntil and Kilty was a historic event, being the first card to host a women's freestyle bout as the singular main event. It was Kilty who came out victorious, taking an early lead in the first period. Bruntil tried to wrestle her way back to redemption and was denied a penalty point before Kilty finished the takedown. The last time the pair met, Bruntil defeated Kilty, 6-4, in the 2019 Senior Nationals semifinals.

During her freshman year, Bruntil compiled a 20-3 record, being named the 2019 Senior Nationals Champion and earning the 2020 National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championship title. She won the 2019 Flatz Senior Open in Austria and is also a 2017 Junior Pan Am Champion.
