(LYNCHBURG, Va., Feb. 1) – The McKendree University women's hockey team completed its two game series with Liberty University on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats were defeated by the Flames 8-1.
With the loss, McKendree falls to 11-9 overall on the season.
McKendree fell behind early to the host Flames as Liberty built up a 7-0 lead before the Bearcats could get on the board. Freshman
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School) scored a power-play goal with just under eight minutes into the third period to break the shutout. Sophomore
Kayla Waldbillig (West Kelowna, BC, Canada/Mount Boucherie Secondary School) was credited with an assist.
The Bearcats will take a weekend off before returning to home ice on Feb. 14-15 to host Miami University (OH).
