(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 28) – The McKendree University women's hockey team will close out the regular season on the road against Lindenwood-Belleville on Saturday in St. Louis. The matchup is scheduled for 8:30pm.
The Bearcats hold a 14-9-1-1 overall record on the season. McKendree will compete in the Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) Championship on March 6-8.
On offense, senior
Alyssa Albee (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) paces the attack with 10 goals, 11 assists, and 21 total points. Senior
Lara Wentz (Bismark, ND/) and freshman
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School) lead the Bearcats in scoring with 11 goals on the season. Senior
Delayne Ivanowski (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) plays a key part in setting up the offense with 10 assists.
Between the pipes, sophomore
Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) leads with a 7-8-1-1 record, 2.06 goals against average, and .924 save percentage with five shutouts. Freshman
Brittnee Kenny (Richmond, Ontario, Canada/South Carleton High School) holds a 6-1 record, 1.33 goals against average, and .921 save percentage with one shutout.
The Bearcats opened their 2019-20 season with the Lynx on Sept. 21, falling 3-1 at home.
About Lindenwood-Belleville
The Lynx enter with a 25-5 overall record on the season, also closing their regular season on Saturday. Alicia Williams is the leading point-getter with 17 goals, 17 assists, and 34 points. Megan Norris leads the offense in goals with 21 and Lindsay Gillis sets up the attack with 24 assists.
In net, Hannah Stone supports a 17-4 record, 1.00 goals against average, and .954 save percentage and 10 shutouts on the season.
