(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind – Feb. 9) – McKnedree University No.2 men's wrestling participated in University of Indianapolis' Greyhound Open this weekend, where Daniel Filipek (Warrenton, MO/Warrenton) was crowned champion and seven other Bearcats placed in the top-7.

The Bearcats were crowned champion in the 184-lb class and had one placed second overall, one placed third overall, two placed fifth overall and two placed sixth overall.
Below are the individual results from the Greyhound Open.

125-lb:
Vincent Priante (Traverse City, MI/Traverse City West) won by a 5-1 decision over Max Dansereau of Bellarmine University. Priante was defeated by major decision (Maj 15-2) to Nate Cummings of Purdue University. Priante won by fall at 3:48 over Terence Brown of Kentucky Wesleyan. Priante won by fall at 4:19 over Josh Smit-Goheen of Indiana Tech. Priante was defeated by fall at 0:55 by Kooper Loehr of Purdue University. Priante won by medical forfeit over Tommy Dineen of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in the fifth-place match. Priant placed fifth overall and went 4-2 on the day.

133-lb:
Christian Mejia (Elkhart, IN/) won by technical fall at 1:27 (16-1) over Kolby Smith of Maryville University. Mejia was defeated in a 5-4 decision to Gavin Ritter who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Mejia won by major decision (Maj 17-6) over Timothy Wright who competed unattached from Assasian. Mejia won by major decision (Maj 22-11) over Andrew Parker who competed unattached from Kentucky Wesleyan. Mejia was defeated due to medical forfeit to Jack Cheney of Purdue University. Mejia was defeated dur to medical forfeit to Michael Leveille who competed unattached from Purdue University in the fifth-place match. Mejia placed sixth overall and went 3-1 on the day.

141-lb:
Charles McNeal (Florissant, MO/Christian Brothers Catholic) won by a 3-1 decision over Nick Varanelli, who competed unattached from the University of Indianapolis.  McNeal was defeated by injury fall (Inj. 2:50) to Justin Wilcox of Ashland University. McNeal was defeated due to medical forfeit to Nathan Carmichael who competed unattached from LOG. McNeal did not place in the open and went 1-1 on the day.

149-lb:
Robbie Snellengberger (St. Charles, MO) was defeated in a 9-3 decision to Austin Ramsey of Lindsey Wilson College. Snellenberger was defeated by technical fall (TF 16-0) to Drew Kreitzer who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Snellenberger did not place in the open and went 0-2 on the day.

Alex Fulton (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon ) was defeated by fall at 3:41 by Nate Wheeler of Indiana Tech. Fulton won by fall at 2:15 over Julian Abbott of Davenport University. Fulton was defeated by fall at 4:53 to Elliot Molloy of JP. Fulton did not place in the open and went 1-2 on the day.

Frankie Falotico (Wardsville, MO/Blair Oaks) won by fall at 2:41 over Austin Rainbolt who competed unattached from LOG. Falotico won by fall at 6:53 over Elliot Molloy of JP. Falotico won by a 2-1 decision over Asa Garcia who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Falotico was defeated in a 4-2 decision by Breyden Bailey who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Falotico was defeated in a 4-3 decision to Nate Wheeler of Indiana Tech. Falotico won by a 9-5 decision over Max Kristoff of Southern Illinois University-Evansville in the fifth-place match. Falotico placed fifth overall and went 4-2 on the day.

Eric Pettibone (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) was defeated by major decision (Maj 10-0) to Breyden Bailey who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Pettibone won by an 8-2 decision over Drew Kreitzer who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Pettibone was defeated by major decision (Maj 14-0) to Owen Zablocki who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Pettibone did not place in the open and went 1-2 on the day.

157-lb:
Josh Ramos (Plainfield, IL/Providence Catholic) competed unattached from McKendree for the open. Ramos was defeated in a 4-3 decision to Nick Gates of Indianan Tech. Ramos won by major decision (Maj 9-1) over Collin Adkins of Tiffin University. Ramos was defeated by injury fall at 1:23 to Elijah Davis who competed unattached from Purdue University. Ramos did not place in the open and went 1-2 on the day.

Charlie Getz (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) competed unattached from McKendree for the open. Getz was defeated in a 15-14 decision to Alex Rivera of Bellarmine University. Getz was defeated in a 6-2 decision to Rhett Newton of Indiana Tech. Getz did not place in the open and went 0-2 on the day.

174-lb:
Joshua Jones (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) won by major decision (Maj 14-4) over Zachary Bierfeldt of Tiffin University. Jones won by a 6-2 decision over Matt Pratt of Maryville University. Jones was defeated in a 4-3 decision by Donnell Washington who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Jones won by a 12-7 decision over Daniel Beemer of Ashland University. Jones was defeated by forfeit to Matt Pratt of Maryville University in the fifth-place match. Jones placed sixth overall and went 3-2 on the day.

184-lb:
Daniel Filipek (Warrenton, MO/Warrenton) won by fall at 1:41 over Chandler Updike of Indiana Tech. Filipek won by major decision (Maj 13-2) over Sergio Vallalobos of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Filipek won by medical forfeit over Eric Vermillion of Indiana Tech. Aldrich won by technical fall (TF 17-1) over Garrett Rich who competed unattached from University of Indianapolis. Aldrich won by a 3-1 decision over Coltan Gonzalez of Marian University. Aldrich was defeated by sudden victory to teammate Filipek in the first-place match. Aldrich placed second overall and went 3-1 on the day.

197-lb:
Ty Obsy (Ballwin, MO/Parkway South) was defeated by injury fall (Inj. 5:18) to Richard Ryu who competed unattached from University of Illinois. Obsy was defeated by injury fall to Mykiel Stallings od Indiana Tech. Obsy did not place in the open and went 0-2 on the day.

285-lb:
Vincenzo Scaletta (Harwood Heights, IL/Ridgewood) won by a 10-5 decision over Zachary Worm of Marian University. Scaletta was defeated by fall at 1:23 by Gavin Hoffman of Ohio State University. Scaletta won by major decision (Maj 12-3) over Veron Willis of Indiana Tech.  Scaletta won by a 3-0 decision over Jarius Perry of Purdue University in the third-place match. Scaletta placed third overall and went 3-1 on the day.

Ian Kuehl (Lena, IL/Lena-Winslow) competed unattached from McKendree for the open. Kuehl won by fall at 2:41 over Jack Williams of University of Indianapolis. Kuehl won by a 9-2 decision over Tyler Petrey of Ashland university. Kuehl was defeated in a 4-2 decision by Max Darrah of Maryville University. Kuehl was defeated in a 4-3 decision to Jarius Perry of Purdue University. Kuehl was defeated in a 4-3 decision to Vernon Willis of Indiana tech in the fifth-place match. Kuehl placed sixth overall and went 2-3 on the day.

The Bearcats will host the mat on Wednesday Feb. 12 in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. They will host the University of Central Oklahoma for a dual at 7:00 P.M.
