(ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 1) – The McKendree University women's hockey team closed out its regular season on the road at Lindenwood-Belleville late Saturday night. The Bearcats dropped the match, falling 3-1 to the Lynx.
The Bearcats close the regular season at 14-10-1-1 overall. They will take part in the Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) Championship tournament next weekend March 6-8 in St. Louis.
Lindenwood-Belleville scored in each period, holding the Bearcats to zero goals through two periods.
Senior
Delayne Ivanowski (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) scored a power play goal with under a minute remaining to break the shutout. Seniors
Jana Garrow (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) and
Alyssa Albee (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) were credited with assists on the goal.
Sophomore goalie
Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) made 27/30 saves in her effort, .900 save percentage.
