(TIFFIN, Ohio, Mar. 11) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team bested the Dragons of Tiffin University this Wednesday evening by a score of 16-10. The Bearcats are now 4-3 on the season.
In an initially back-and-forth game, with McKendree and Tiffin taking 18 and 19 shots in the first half, respectively. Despite the nearly even shot numbers, Tiffin headed into halftime with a 9-7 lead. It wasn't until the second half where the Bearcats began to pull away, out-shooting the Dragons 15 to seven and scoring eight unanswered goals to cap off their decisive victory.
Offensively, the Bearcats were led by
Kathryn Albrecht (Louisville, KY/Eastern High School), who exploded for six goals and four assists, most of which coming in the second half. Junior
Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) also added six goals, while fellow junior
Jess Morey (Loveland, OH/Loveland) and senior
Sarah Hardin (Pacific, MO/Eureka) added two goals each as well. Goalkeeper
Clara Andrews (St. Louis, MO/Nerinx Hall High School) made 10 saves in the victory
The Bearcats will be back in action once more this Thursday, March 12 as they take on the University of Charleston in West Virginina at 6 p.m.
