(ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 8) – The McKendree University women's hockey team placed fourth in the Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) following Sunday mornings 4-0 loss to Lindenwood Belleville.
The Bearcats move to 15-12-1-1 overall on the season and will now await the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) rankings as the top eight teams will head to Frisco, Tex. for the ACHA National Championship.
Lindenwood-Belleville jumped into the scoring column two minutes into the opening period, taking an early 1-0 lead. Freshman goalie
Brittnee Kenny (Richmond, Ontario, Canada/South Carleton High School) was brilliant in stopping 26 opposing shots in the period.
In the second period, the Lynx added two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into the final 20 minutes. They would go on to score once more in the third period, capturing a 4-0 victory over the Bearcats.
Between the pipes, Kenny made 44 saves, good for a .917 save percentage.
