(LEBANON, Ill. – Jan. 19) – The McKendree University men's basketball will hit the road again for their next two scheduled contests. The Bearcats will be in Springfield on Thursday, Jan. 21 and at Quincy on Saturday, Jan. 23.
Chris Foster and his team will be back in action this week since their last time on the court on Jan. 6. In that game against Drury, the Bearcats fell in overtime 88-92. With 10 minutes left in the game, three-pointer by
Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) would put the Bearcats ahead by three. Then a drive under the basket by
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) with 4.6 second left would send the game to overtime. McKendree is averaging 79.3 points per game, 2.4 points ahead of their opponent, with 46.6 percent from the floor and 39.6 percent from beyond the arc. Four Bearcats are averaging with 10 points or better, including
Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) (17.7),
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) (15.4),
Alijah Thomas (Des Moines, IA/Hoover) (13.3), and

About University of Illinois-Springfield
The University of Illinois Springfield sits with a 5-4 (5-4 in GLVC) record heading into this week. They will host the University of Indianapolis Tuesday night before taking on McKendree on Thursday. In their recent loss, 50-78, to University of Missouri-St. Louis, the Prairie Stars shot 26.9 percent from the floor in the first half. They were able to come back within nine, but could not make up the remainder of the points after being down 19 heading into halftime. They will host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday night before hosting McKendree Saturday afternoon. in their recent 77-93 loss to Lindenwood on Saturday, the Hawks created a comfortable lead but soon found themselves down by one. With three minutes left in the half, Lindenwood went on a 10-2 run and took the nine-point lead heading into halftime. Quincy was unable to make a last-minute comeback from their 18 turnovers over the course of the game.
