(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 7) – The McKendree University men's swimming and diving program will head to Rolla, MO on Friday Jan. 8
th to compete against Missouri S&T.
The Bearcats will finally return to the pool after having multiple competitions cancelled during first semester. McKendree hosted GLVC conference member Truman State, on Oct. 23
rd where they swept the Bulldogs 208-78 and had their first 2020-21 season win. McKendree captured the majority of events. The team was led by
Xander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) who won three individual events, as well as
Macoy Neinas (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Southern Door) and
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari), each placing first in two individual swims.
Friday's meet against the Miners is set to begin at 12:00pm.
"We are very excited to get back to racing again this weekend against a perennial D2 power in Missouri S&T. I have a tremendous amount of respect for their program. They are extremely well coached and always a team that competes really hard. We are expecting a tough group of competitors just like we have seen in the past. It will be a very good test for us," said head coach
Jimmy Tierney.
The Bearcats were set to race against Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday Jan. 9
th; however, the meet has been canceled. McKendree's next debut will be on Friday Jan. 15
th against the University of Indianapolis.
