LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's soccer won its sixth-straight match, beating Rockhurst on Sunday afternoon at Leemon Field. The match was headlined by a broad offensive showing by the Bearcats with three separate goal-scorers and three dish-outs.
The opening half of play served as a tone-setting 45 minutes for the Bearcats as they collected two goals in the first half. The first goal was fired past the Hawks' keeper by sophomore midfielder
Reagan Mauch off a free kick from freshman defender
Kathleen Kenny and a secondary touch pass from sophomore midfielder
Anna Stiffler. Mauch recorded her fourth score of the season and her first game-winner in the 3-0 drubbing.
McKendree's first insurance score came from senior midfielder
Riley Ross in the 22nd minute of action. Ross collected a long pass from sophomore defender
Sophia Sacco, who dished out her first assist of the fall season. Ross' goal marked her second of the fall and second in three games, as she played the heroics in the victory of GLVC-foe Truman State. The Bearcats entered the half with a 2-0 lead, firing on all cylinders during the first 45 minutes of action.
The second half resulted in an extra insurance goal following a foul by the Hawks. The foul resulted in the freshman Kenny earning a free kick from just beyond the Hawks' 18-yard box, which Kenny fired to the upper 90 past the opposing goalkeeper. Kenney, a transfer from Truman State, collected her first score as a Bearcat with the free-kick goal, she also dished-out an assist in the victory.

Mercedes King went on to earn a sixth-straight win on the season as she recorded a clean sheet in her 64 minutes. King owns a 6-0-1 record this fall with three clean sheets and a goals allowed average of 0.76.
With the victory, McKendree knotted up the all-time series with the Hawks which now sits at 6-6-0. The Bearcats won back-to-back matches in the series.
NOTES:
McKendree earned its sixth-straight victory with the 3-0 win over Rockhurst. The Bearcats improved to 9-1-2 (7-1-1) this fall and evened the all-time series with Rockhurst at 6-6-0.
Sophomore midfielder
Reagan Mauch (Columbia, Illinois) ranks second on McKendree for total goals with four following her game-winner against the Hawks. It also marked her first game-winner of the season.
Senior midfielder
Riley Ross (Springfield, Illinois) scored her second goal of the season in the win. Her first score of the fall came against Truman State and served as the game-winner.
Freshman defender
Kathleen Kenny (Wildwood, Missouri) fired her first goal of the season off a free-kick early in the second half. She nows owns four points with one goal and two assists this fall.
Senior keeper
Mercedes King returned from injury to start against Quincy on September 24 and has earned six-straight wins since. The keeper owns a 6-0-1 record on the season.
