O'FALLON, Ill. - McKendree University women's hockey collected a third-straight victory, defeating Maryville for the third-straight time this year and second time at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex. 

The Bearcats prevailed over the Saints with a decisive win, scoring half way through the first period. The first McKendree goal (P1 | 10:19) came from junior center Camryn Scully, who took a pass from fellow junior and forward Juliana Davis, firing the puck past the opposing tender to put the Bearcats up in the contest, 1-0. 

The next two scores for the Bearcats came from freshman defender Cassidy Dion, who scored in consecutive periods for McKendree, solidifying the win in the third and final period. Dion's first score of the night outing was just over one minute into the second period of action during a power play for the Bearcats at the 1:02 mark. The freshman's initial goal was assisted on by fellow freshman defender Aria Groot and junior wing Quinn Atchison. Dion's first score also came during a McKendree power play, marking the Bearcats' only successful conversion during power plays in the match (1 of 4). Dion then recorded a second goal in the match in the third and final period during the 11th minute of play, firing the puck past the Saints' goalie to push the lead to 3-0, in favor of McKendree. THe second goal for Dion was set up through senior left wing Jackie Leone and freshman forward Larisa Gorgevska-Sharpe, who both recorded an assist on the score. 

The Saints of Maryville University struck back to cut the Bearcats' lead to onl two goals at the 16:05 mark of the third period when #22 Mady Johnson fired one into the net. 

McKendree's fourth score of the night was freshman forward Kiley Hasenfratz's first goal of the year and was assisted on by the left wing Leone. 

Maryville's Johnson scored one more goal to close out the match as the Bearcats prevailed over the Saints, 4-2. 

The net and back line was dutifully guarded under lock and key for the majority of the match with senior goaltender Naomi Leasck recording full-time in the net once again. Leasck grabbed 25 saves in her third victory of the season.
