Bearcats Win 14 of 16 Events, Record Four NCAA 'B' Times

O'FALLON, Ill. – The McKendree University men's swimming and diving team improved to 7-0 on the season in dual meets as the fourth-ranked Bearcats picked up wins here Saturday over both 15th-ranked Missouri S&T (179-81) and 14th-ranked Delta State (203-94) at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex Pool.

In Saturday's double dual meet, the Bearcats won 13 of the 16 events and turned in four NCAA 'B' qualifying times. In addition, the Bearcats went 1-2 in four events – 1,000 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 400 IM.

Four Bearcats won at least three events on Saturday, including sophomore Filipe Pinheiro (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Colegio Ao Cubo) taking home four event wins.

Skinner, who was named this week's PNC GLVC Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, took home first place in the 200 freestyle (1:38.78) and 100 freestyle (44.54) and was the anchor leg on the winning 200 medley relay team. Both of Skinner's individual event times were 'B' qualifying times.
