KENOSHA, Wis. - The McKendree University women's bowling team finished the second day of the MOTIV Ladyjack Hammer Classic with a 4-0 record and a total pinfall of 10,540 to earn the top seed for Sunday's bracket play championship held here at Sheridan Lanes.
After playing five Baker games on Friday, the Bearcats played four traditional games on Saturday as they opened the day with a 1,103-891 win over Valparaiso University, before posting a 1,131-1,068 win over No. 4 ranked Vanderbilt University. In its third game on Saturday, the Bearcats defeated No. 1 ranked Nebraska, 998-954 and then picked up a 1,039-884 win over No. 11 ranked Duquesne University.
While McKendree finished first with a 9-0 record after the first two days of competition, Nebraska finished second with an 8-2 record and a pinfall total of 10,217, while Vanderbilt was third with a 6-3 record and a 10,129 pinfall total. No. 3 ranked Arkansas State and No. 10 Stephen F. Austin rounded out the Top 5 finishers as Arkansas State went 7-3 with a pinfall total of 9,909 and SFA posted a 5-4 record and a 9,899 pinfall total.
In individual play, three Bearcats finished in the Top 10 with junior
Maranda Pattison (Redwood Valley, Calif./Ukiah Independent) leading the way as she placed third with a pinfall total of 1,120 (224 average per game). In addition to Pattison, junior
Rebecca Hagerman (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) was fourth with a pinfall total of 1,086 (217.20 average per game and senior
Hope Gramly (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) was eighth with a pinfall total of 1,066 (213.20 average per game).

Cassidy Courey (Brooklyn Center, Minn./Mount Mercy) was 48th with a pinfall of 832 (208 average per game), while fifth-year senior
Isabella Correa Sarmiento (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Leonistico La Merced) was 52nd with a pinfall of 790 (197.50 average per game). The final two competitors were freshman
Anna Warkel (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) and junior
Kayla Smith (Salem, Ill./Salem), who finished 88th and 92nd respectively with pinfall totals of 219 and 179 as those two played the final traditional game against Duquesne.
With its No. 1 seed, the Bearcats will begin bracket play on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m. against No. 2 seed Nebraska. The winner of the McKendree-Nebraska match will advance to Sunday's championship match.
