O'Fallon, Ill. - McKendree University women's hockey dropped a match at McKendree Metro Rec Plex by razor thin margins to the Lions of Lindenwood on Saurday afternoon. The Bearcats fired 36 shots on goal but were unable to convert any of the attempts to even the contest.
McKendree and Lindenwood played a dead-even contest throughout the 60 minutes of action but the Lions were able to find the back of the net early in the second period. The level-ground match featured only five penalties with three against the visiting Lions and two against the Bearcats. Lindenwood's goal came a minute and a half into the second period and proved to be the game-winner.
Senior goaltender
Naomi Leasck grabbed 25 saves in the singular-goal loss with 26 shots on frame from the Lions.
The loss marked the Bearcats first loss on home ice at McKendree Metro Rec Plex. McKendree was previously 3-0 in its home rink.
