The McKendree Bearcats (6-6, 6-6 GLVC) men's basketball team fell to the Drury Panthers (9-8, 9-8 GLVC) 82-77 in overtime on Thursday night in Lebanon, Ill.
How it Happened
For the second time this season, the Bearcats and the Panthers played to a tie score at the end of regulation. With the Bearcats trailing by three with just over 11 second to go,
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) hit a corner three to knot the score up and send it into overtime. The extra frame was all Drury. The visitors started overtime with a 9-0 run and the Bearcats could not dig out of that hole. The loss snapped the Bearcats two-game winning streak. Â Â

Alijah Thomas (Des Moines, IA/Hoover) led the way for the Bearcats scoring 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He was also perfect from the free-throw line making all seven attempts.

Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) led the Bearcats on the boards grabbing nine rebounds, and also chipping in 13 points.Â
