(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 19) – The No.14 McKendree University men's volleyball team closed out their two-game MIVA matchup with Quincy, Friday evening. The Bearcats improve to 7-0 (6-0 in MIVA) after sweeping Quincy in three sets, and the two-game series.
Tommy McGrath (Paradise Valley, AZ/Brophy College Prep) and
Lucas Galifos (Mokena,IL/Lincoln Way East) continued their dominating performance from the night before, into tonight's game. They would help the Bearcats take the first set 25-22. Good service came at crucial moments in the second set for the Bearcats, and helped them to a 25-21 win. McKendree's consistency wore down Quincy's defense in the third set, to a 25-16 final score. The Bearcats would take the match 3-0 and the series 2-0.
No.14 McKendree ended the night with a .338 hitting percentage and 38 kills.
Zach Schnittker (Arlington Heights, IL/Buffalo Grove) led the offense for the Bearcats with nine kills, adding in two service aces.
Tommy McGrath (Paradise Valley, AZ/Brophy College Prep) was a big presence at the net, recording five blocks and adding in seven kills. Both
Ryan Serrano (Phoenix, AZ/Boulder Creek) and
Francisco Comas (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) recorded seven digs. Serrano also added 31 assists while Comas added two assists.

Nickie Sanlin and her team, is No.4 Lewis University. The Bearcats will face the Flyers on Friday, Feb. 26, at 7:00 PM in the Neil Carey Arena.
