(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 20) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team took on William Jewell College in their second match of the GLVC Triangular, Saturday evening. The Bearcats improve to 2-4 (2-4 in GLVC) after defeating William Jewell in three sets.

McKendree picked up right where they left off from their first match of the day. A dominant performance both offensive and defensively would win them the set 25-14. Brianna Binder's (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) service run and Hope Gramly's (Prosper, TX/Prosper) net presence helped break down the Cardinal defense. The Bearcats would take the second set 25-20. The Bearcats stopped the Cardinals from scoring any points from the net, and would take the final set 25-17 and the match 3-0.

McKendree finished the night with a .202 hitting percentage and 36 kills. Elle Russell (Festus, MO/St. Pius X) recorded 10 kills on the night, along with one service ace and seven digs. Brianna Binder (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) led both teams with five service aces, adding in six kills, two blocks, and eight digs. Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) recorded 27 assists and one service ace during the game.

Nickie Sanlin's team will be on the road this week, traveling to St. Charles, Mo., for another GLVC Triangular. The Bearcats will face Missouri S&T and Lindenwood on Saturday Feb. 17, in the Robert F. Hyland Arena.
