The McKendree University women's hockey team ended its final home game with a 5-2 loss to the Maryville Saints.

The Bearcats jumped on the board first within the first three minutes.
Jaynee Smothers (Buckner, MO/Fort Osage) found the back of the net following a pass from
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School). The Saints quickly answered back though tying the score at one. After some back and forth action, McKendree scored yet again within the last five minutes of the first period.
Juliana Davis (Onanole, Manitoba, Canada/) put away a rebound off a shot from Scully. Maryville scored two more goals, taking the lead 3-2 over the Bearcats at the end of the first period.

The Saints scored another time during the second period, extending their lead 4-2 into the second intermission. Â

Maryville scored a final time during the third period to claim a 5-2 victory over McKendree.

Next up, the Bearcats will be traveling to Minot State University for a series on March 19 & 20. Â
