The McKendree University women's volleyball team closed out another Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tri-match Saturday evening, against University of Missouri-St.Louis. The Bearcats moved to 5-7 (5-7 in GLVC) after being defeated in three sets by the Tritons (25-20, 25-19, 25-16).

McKendree opened up the contest with high energy, which helped them work through the long rallies that played out for a majority of the set. Back-to-back blocks and unforced errors by the Tritons helped them to the 25-20 set win.

McKendree and UMSL battled at the net to limit each other's hitting percentage in the second set, to the lowest of the match. The Bearcats were limited to a -.071 percentage while the Tritons were limited to a .093 percentage. The Tritons capitalized off unforced errors and strong serving. The Tritons would take the second set 25-19.

McKendree found themselves trailing early into the third set. The Tritons kept a comfortable two-point lead ahead of the Bearcats until the midway point. The Bearcat's defense did a good job of keeping out of system balls alive, to be able to run their offense. A kill from the middle would give the Tritons the set 25-19, and the match 3-0.

McKendree closed out the contest with a .045 hitting percentage with 36 kills. Colleen Preusser (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran) led her team with eight kills, while both Claire Diercks (Highland, IL/Highland) and Maddie Misner (Makanda, IL/Carbondale) added six kills apiece. Diercks also added four blocks, while Misner added three blocks on the match. Amanda Tippett (Forestill, MO/St. Dominic) led her team with two service aces and 16 digs.  Tippett would also add three assists, while Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) tallied 23 assists.

Nickie Sanlin and Her team will begin a four-game road series, starting with a GLVC Triangular in Kirksville, Mo. McKendree will face Rockhurst and Truman State on Saturday, Mar. 20, in Pershing Arena.
