Late Second Half Goal Surges No. 14 Women's Soccer Over Drury

The No. 14 McKendree University women's soccer uses a late second half goal to defeat Drury 2-1 on Friday at Leemon Field.
 
The Bearcats have now won five games in a row since its loss to Quincy back on March 7. 
 
How It Happened
 
The Bearcats would strike first with a first half goal from Allison Frederking with the assist from Morgan Cervera at the 34th minute. The goal would be Frederking's second of the season.
 
The Panthers would respond early in the second half with a goal from Kourtney Tucker at the 48th minute.
 
Riley Ross would be the hero and scored a late second half goal at the 86th minute to secure the win for the Bearcats. Last week's Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week Emma Knoebel would have the assist. 
 
With the win, the Bearcats improve to 8-1 on the season and still in first place of the GLVC.

The Bearcats would have 21 shots on the day, with 11 of the shots on goal. The Panthers would have six shots on the day with five on goal. 
 
Mercedes King would have the start in net. She had three saves and gave up one goal.
