The McKendree University women's hockey team was dominant in its 4-2 win over Maryville on Wednesday night.
Camryn Scully (Prince George, BC, Canada/Prince George Secondary School) netted her first hat trick for the Bearcat win.
McKendree struck first with only two minutes left of the opening period when Scully rifled a shot into the back of the net, unassisted. After the opening period of play, the Bearcats held a 1-0 lead.
Scully notched her second goal of the game 10 minutes into the second period off a pass from
Quinn Atchison (Victoria, BC, Canada/Belmont Seconday School). Just a minute later, Scully capped off her hat trick with help from
Jaynee Smothers (Buckner, MO/Fort Osage) and
Juliana Davis (Onanole, Manitoba, Canada/). The Saints came back with a goal late into the second period, but the Bearcats held a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
Halfway through the final period, Atchison scored her own goal with an assist from Scully. Maryville attempted to make a comeback but with no luck. The Bearcats maintained their defense to hold a 4-2 victory over the Maryville Saints.
Freshman
Brianna Burke () made 27/29 saves for the win.

th at 7:30pm.
