Women's Bowling Win Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament

The McKendree University women's bowling team captured its fourth NCAA tournament victory when they took first at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic this weekend.

The Bearcats finished the weekend with a record of 11-1, averaging a score of 206 in 62 games.

On championship Sunday, the Bearcats opened the day against familiar foe of the University of Nebraska. McKendree defeated the Cornhuskers in six games to earn a spot in the championship match.

However, the Bearcats would not be done with the Cornhuskers as the two would meet again in the finals after Nebraska emerged victorious in a previous match that day against North Carolina A&T.

The outcome would be the same as the one earlier that day, as the Bearcats would once again defeat the Cornhuskers, 186-242, 257-244, 204-204, 193-192, 224-222, and 182-170 to claim the title.

Junior Hope Gramly (Prosper, TX/Prosper) continued her spectacular season for McKendree, taking home tournament MVP honors for the fifth time this year. Gramly averaged 213 on the weekend and finished with a total pin fall of 1,065.

The Bearcats return to action when they travel to Jonesboro, Ark. to compete in the NCAA Mid-Winter Invitational the weekend of March 12th.
