The McKendree University men's tennis team improved to 6-5 on the year following a 4-3 win against the Screaming Eagles of the University of Southern Indiana.
The Bearcats claimed the two necessary wins at doubles with
Leonardo Frederico and
Ryan Fung claiming the first win at one doubles by a final score of 6-3. The other win would be secured on the court next to them by
Vishnu Prasad and
Subash Paramasivan who won and secured the first point of the match with a 6-4.
Singles play would see the Bearcats get the final three wins they need at the top of the lineup. Prasad cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles. The next match to finish would Frederico at one singles who earned the Bearcats third point of the match by a score of 6-4, 6-2. The match would be clinched by
Julappagari Anurag Reddy who would win 6-4, 6-2 at third singles.
"Our guys continue to compete with great integrity, and we keep learning something new every single match," said head coach René Vidal. "An overall solid effort with much more work to do."
The Bearcats return to the court for a noon match tomorrow, April 17, against Webster University at Triad High School.
