The McKendree University men's tennis team improved to 8-5, and 5-4 in conference play, after defeating Maryville 6-1.
The only point the Bearcats would surrender on the afternoon would be in doubles, with the Saints winning at first and second doubles.
Julappagari Anurag Reddy and
Jaydn Richardson would win at third doubles by a final score of 6-3.
The Bearcats would come alive in singles play and sweep the Saints. Leading the way for the Bearcats would be
Leonardo Frederico and Reddy, who would blow through their opponents by scores of 6-2, 6-2, and 6-1, 6-4.
Vishnu Prasad would take down his opponent 7-6(3), 6-4, and
Subash Paramasivan dismantled his opponent at fourth singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Ryan Fung and
Jaydn Richardson would each go three sets at fifth and sixth singles but come out on top by final scores of 1-6, 6-1, 11-9 and 3-6, 7-5, 10-5.
The Bearcats conclude their regular season schedule tomorrow, April 23, when the Bearcats welcome Lindenwood to Triad High School for an 11 am match.
