The McKendree University men's tennis team defeated the Lindenwood Lions on Saturday by a final score of 6-1.
McKendree dispatched the Lions at first and second doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead to begin the match.
Leonardo Frederico and
Ryan Fung led the charge at one doubles, defeating their opponents 6-0. Next to them was
Vishnu Prasad and
Subash Paramasivan, who won 6-3.
The Bearcats blew through the top of the Lions lineup in singles play, with Frederico holding down first singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Julappagari Anurag Reddy held down second singles with a 7-5, 6-2.
McKendree would emerge on top at third and fourth singles as well, both coming in three sets.
Vishnu Prasad took home third singles after a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. And
Subash Paramasivan won 2-6, 7-5, 11-9.
The Bearcats await the results of the rest of the Great Lakes Valley Conference to see if they earn a spot in the Great Lakes Valley Tennis Championships in Romeoville, Ill.
