The McKendree University men's tennis team fell to the Prairie Stars of the University of Illinois Springfield by a score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon on Springfield, Ill.
In doubles play, the Bearcats would notch a win at third doubles with the freshman
Julappagari Anurag Reddy and sophomore
Santiago Tintore coming out on top 6-3. The other two doubles teams would fall, 2-6 and 5-7.
Singles play would see the Bearcats play the Prairie Stars tight at all positions, with first, second and third singles all going to three sets. But in the end the Prairie Stars would get the best of the Bearcats.
Sophomore
Ryan Fung would be the only Bearcat to score a singles win, winning 4-6, 7-5, and an instant classic third set 11-9.
The Bearcats return to action on April 7 when they take on Lewis and Clark Community College.
