BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – McKendree University men's water polo had five student-athletes earn ACWPC All-Academic Team honors for their achievements in the classroom during the 2020-21 school year that was announced recently by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches and Collegiate Water Polo Association.
Nominees for ACWPA All-Academic Team honors must achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or higher during the 2020-21 school year to be eligible for the award. Student-athletes are recognized in three levels – 3.2 to 3.4 (Excellent), 3.41 to 3.7 (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding).
McKendree was one of 41 schools to have student-athletes named to the ACWPC All-Academic Team and one of 38 schools to have at least five student-athletes recognized.
Overall, a total of 456 men's water polo student-athletes received ACWPC All-Academic Team accolades for the 2020-21 school year. Santa Clara led the way with 21 overall selections, while UCLA and UCSD were next with 20 overall selections.
