INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No.17 McKendree University women's soccer collected six all-conference awards with one major award winner as junior forward
Anna Stiffler was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous first team selection, announced the league office on Thursday afternoon. The Bearcats received two other first-team selections with senior defender
Morgan Bova and senior midfielder
Allison Frederking, one second team member in senior goalkeeper
Abby Tucker, and two third team selections with senior midfielder
Elizabeth Goldstein and junior midfielder
Reagan Mauch. With Stiffler's recognition, McKendree earns its first Offensive Player of the Year honor since 2016 when Sydnee Carroll received the award. The second-seeded Bearcats face off against third-seeded Maryville Saints on Friday evening in the GLVC Tournament Semifinal at 5 PM at Leemon Field.
The No.17 Bearcats tack on three All-GLVC First Team selections for the second consecutive season with Stiffler, Bova, and Frederking all nabbing spots following a historic regular season. It marks Stiffler's second first team selection and third overall All-GLVC honor (1st - 2022, 1st - 2021, 2nd - 2020/Freshman of the Year), Bova's second first team honor and third overall (1st - 2022, 1st - 2021, 3rd - 2020), and Frederking's first all-conference honor. With the multiple first-team honorees, McKendree marks five-straight years of owning multiple first-team recipients in the GLVC. The goalkeeper Tucker, along with the midfielders in Goldstein and Mauch, were all named to their first-ever all-league teams.
GLVC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR & FIRST-TEAM - Anna Stiffler | Jr. | F | O'Fallon, Mo.
Stiffler, a product of St. Dominic and O'Fallon, Missouri-native, continued her prowess on the attack this season with 13 goals, one assist, six game-winners, and 27 points in 18 games. The forward currently ranks second for single-season goals (13) at McKendree as the last Bearcat to win the GLVC's Offensive Player of the Year honors, Sydnee Carroll, fired 17 in 2016 season. Stiffler ranks atop a multitude of categories in the Great Lakes Valley Conference on the year, leading in points (27), points per game (1.50), goals (13), goals per game (0.72), and game-winners (6 / 0.33 per game). The junior scored in nine of 12 GLVC games and 12 of 18 games overall on the 2022 campaign. On the season, Stiffler has fired 82 shots with 41 on frame (0.500) in over 1200 minutes of action. She owns one multi-goal outing against Kentucky Wesleyan (9/3/22) while having a stretch of scoring in five-straight contests (9/23-10/7). It was her first unanimous selection to the GLVC's first team. Her offensive firepower helped McKendree achieve a program-feat with its first ever undefeated regular season.
The 2022 season marked back-to-back years with 20-plus points for Stiffler while it was her first year of scoring 10-plus goals. The junior has started all 18 games so far and has started all but two in her time at McKendree (52/54 starts). Stiffler is the former GLVC Freshman of the year (2020-21), when she fired eight goals and dished-out three assists for 19 points while scoring four game-winning goals. In 2021, the St Dominic-product played in 19 games with eight scores, five assists, three game-winners, for 21 total points.
FIRST TEAM - Morgan Bova | Sr. | D | Troy, Mo.
Bova collected her third All-GLVC honor and her second first-team selection in 2022, as she continued to be a staple in the Bearcats' back line. The Troy, Missouri-native and Troy Buchanan product, logged nearly 1600 minutes in 18 games and starts on the season. Bova has fired two goals on the year as she fired the game-winner over UIndy in the quarterfinal of the GLVC Tournament on October 30. The senior also dished-out three assists this fall, totaling seven points. As a leader on the back line for the McKendree defense, she helped her team to an undefeated regular season for the first time in program history while the defense allowed just 10 goals (0.56 per game) on just 5.9 shots per game. Bova was also named the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Honoree for the Bearcats.
FIRST TEAM - Allison Frederking | Sr. | MF | Weldon Springs, Mo.
Frederking, a product of Incarnate Word, collected her first All-GLVC honors in 2022 as she started all 18 contests so far, logging just under 1500 minutes. Frederking has fired three goals with six total points with two of her scores earning game-winner status. Her goals against Quincy (9/23) and William Jewell (10/2) both served as game-winning scores for the Bearcats. The Weldon Springs, Missouri-native started all games for a second-straight season while playing a major role throughout the midfield on the year.
SECOND/THIRD TEAM
Senior goalkeeper
Abby Tucker earned her first all-league honors with her outstanding performance in 2022, as she served as the primary keeper for McKendree with nearly 1600 minutes in net and 18 starts so far. Tucker owns a goals allowed average of 0.57 and a save percentage of 0.792 with 38 saves. The Wentzville, Missouri-native and Timberland product ranks highly in the GLVC in multiple categories in goals allowed average (4th) and save percentage (9th).
Senior midfielder
Elizabeth Goldstein, a native of Florissant, Missouri and prodcut of Incarnate Word, added her first All-GLVC award with a third-team selection in 2022. Goldstein started 16 games while playing in all 18 so far with just under 1200 minutes on the pitch. The midfielder fired three scores while dishing-out three assists on the campaign. The senior fired her first goal since the 2020-21 season against Missouri S&T on September 5. She fired all three scores via penalty kick in 2022 and sits three for three on PKs this fall.
The final All-GLVC member for the Bearcats is junior midfielder
Reagan Mauch, who earns her first career league honors in the process. Mauch, a product of Columbia and native of Columbia, Illinois, started all 18 matches this season with three goals, one assist, and one game-winner, for seven total points. The junior fired nearly 50-percent of her shots on-frame while also going 1-1 from the penalty kick stripe.

GLVC TOURNAMENT - CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
No.17 / #2-Seed McKendree women's soccer will be back in action on Friday, November 4, at 5 PM against the #3-Seed Maryville at Leemon Field. The Bearcats remained as the highest seed following the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament and received hosting duties with their quarterfinal victory. Leemon Field in Lebanon, Illinois will play as the host for the semifinal and final rounds of the GLVC women's soccer tournament.
