KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The McKendree University women's swimming team picked up its second dual meet win of the 2022-23 season here Saturday as the 15th-ranked Bearcats picked up a 118-84 victory over Truman State at the Pershing Natatorium on the Truman State campus.

Saturday's meet came about 24 hours after the Bearcats suffered a 194-104 loss to fourth-ranked University of Indianapolis at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.

In Saturday's dual meet against the Bulldogs, McKendree won six of the 11 events, including winning the 200 freestyle relay. In addition, the Bearcats went 1-2 in three of its six event wins. 

Two Bearcats won multiple events in Saturday's meet as freshman Ana Cecilia Carvalho (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Loyola) won the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, while fifth-year senior Abigail Rumpp (Knoxville, Tenn./L&N STEM Academy) won the 50 freestyle and was the first leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Truman State would win the first event of the meet as they recorded a time of 4:00.71 to win the 400 medley relay. The Bearcats went second and third in the event as the 'A' Team of freshman Keianna Moss (Nassau, Bahamas/Focus Point Academy), freshman Rylee Sitton (Troy, Ill./Triad), redshirt freshman McKenzie Fazio (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River) and Rumpp posted a time of 4:00.78. The 'B' Relay Team of sophomore Caitlyn Sligh (Tomball, Texas/Tomball Memorial), senior Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township), Carvalho and freshman Olivia Fuller (Coolidge, Antigua/St. Anthony's) was third with a time of 4:03.42.

Freshman Natalia Kralova (Poprad, Slovakia/Gymnasium Ivana Horvatha) won the first event for the Bearcats as she posted a time of 10:53.69 to win the 1,000 freestyle. Freshman Payton Kollmorgen (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southwest) was third with a time of 11:21.11.

Carvalho and freshman Jocelyn Zgola (Milwaukee, Wis./Greendale) went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle as Carvalho posted a first place time of 1:56.40, while Zgola was second with a time of 1:58.56.

In the 50 freestyle, the Bearcats finished first, second, third and fourth as Rumpp was first with a time of 24.65, while sophomore Karley Sonnenberg (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) was second with a time of 24.96. Junior Alexis Kachkin (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) was third with a time of 25.02 and senior Emily Drabick (Barto, Pa./Florida Southern) was fourth with a time of 25.08.

Sophomore Sarah Gormley (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) was second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.72 as Truman's Adelaide Reaser took home first place with a time of 4:29.84.

Moss and Fazio went 1-2 in the 100 butterfly as Moss finished first with a time of 59.59 and Fazio was second with a time of 1:00.72.

Gormley, Kachkin and Sonnenberg were second, third and fourth in the 100 freestyle as Gromley posted a second place time of 54.03, while Kachkin was third with a time of 54.06 and Sonnenberg had a time of 54.68.

After a fourth and fifth place finish in the 100 backstroke, the Bearcats would win the next event - 500 freestyle - as Carvalho was first with a time of 5:05.04. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Sitton, Credit and sophomore Presley Heitzmann (Magnolia, Texas/Magnolia) went second (1:08.26), third (1:09.10) and Heitzmann was fourth (1:11.18). 

McKendree would end the meet on a high note as they went first, second and fourth in the 200 freestyle relay. McK's 'A' Team relay finished first with a time of 1:37.48. The members of the winning relay team were Rumpp, Sonnenberg, Kachkin and Gormley. The 'B' Relay Team was second with a time of 1:40.15 and the 'C' Team was fourth with a time of 1:43.92. The 'B' Relay Team members were sophomore Aurora Abbruscato (Reggio Emilia, Italy/I.I.S. Blaise Pasval), Fuller, Zgola and Drabick and then 'C' Team members were Moss, Credit, Sligh and Kralova. 

The Bearcats return to action on Nov. 16-18 as they compete at the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
