Men's Volleyball Concludes Road Trip with Win at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - McKendree men's volleyball improved to 6-4 on the season and 3-1 in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association after posting a 3-0 win over Lindenwood at Hyland Arena on Saturday afternoon. 

The Bearcats posted 25-20, 27-25, and 25-20 set wins over the Lions. With the win the Bearcats extended their winning streak to 10 matches over the Lions.  

The Bearcats held the Lions to a .211 hitting percentage while the Lions also committed 21 serve errors whereas the Bearcats hit .282 and only committed 10 serve errors. 

Graduate student outside hitter Ethan Carroll (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) led the Bearcats with 10 kills. Graduate student outside hitter Patrick Ross (Anthem, Ariz./Boulder Creek) had nine kills in the match.  

Freshman outside hitter Kevin Schuele (Aurora, Ill./Saint Francis) led the Bearcats with eight digs. Carroll and redshirt senior setter Ryan Serrano added six digs each in the match. Senior libero Francisco Comas (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded five digs. Redshirt senior middle blocker Tommy McGrath (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) recorded six total blocks with one solo and five block assists while Carroll added five block assists and Schuele added two block assists. 

Lindenwood was led by AJ Lewis as he recorded a game-high 14 kills as Diego Negron added eight kills in the match. Negron also had a game-high nine digs in the match. 

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Melvin Price Convocation Center as the Bearcats host the Ramblers of Loyola University Chicago.
